Ritten & area

Discover South Tyrol

The farm „Kaserhof“ is located on a southward directed hillside in Oberbozen/Soprabolzano on the sunny high plateau of Ritten/Renon. The newly built cable car connects Ritten/Renon every four minutes with the capital city of the region, Bozen/Bolzano. Furthermore there is a historical narrow-gauge railway going from village to village. On the “Rittner Horn” mountain, a cable car ascents up to the summit as high as 2.260 height meters, in the midst of a breathtaking panoramic view, overseeing this perfect skiing area for families in the wintertime.
Several small museums nourish the hunger for cultural experiences, countless hiking and walking paths offer our guests the prefect scenery to relax body and soul, just as a large spectrum of sports facilities.
You can use the cable cars and narrow-gauge railway free of charge with your “Rittencard”.

Hiking in Ritten (Summer / Winter)

On Ritten you find several hundreds of kilometers of marked hiking and walking paths, starting in the vineyards in Bozen/Bolzano up to heights of more than 2.000 meters over the sea. Therefore it is no wonder that the area offers the right route for everyone: Easy ways and themed promenades for families with children, long tours for experienced hikers and amazingly smooth ways through meadows and forests for those who especially enjoy the rich nature. Due to the many taverns, hutches and farms with restaurants along the ways, you don’t have to worry about your meals and snacks.
The hiking way with the number six leads directly past the farm „Kaserof“, guiding you into Oberbozen, along the “Riggermoos” up to the “Rittner Horn”, to Lichtenstern, Klobenstein and from there towards all directions all over the Ritten high plateau.
